French President’s wife Brigitte Macron visited the pyramids on Monday, on the sidelines of their official visit to Egypt.
Ms. Brigitte was received by archaeological Ashraf Mohi, Director General of the Pyramids, who accompanied her on a two-hour tour, that began around the Great Pyramids, the Solar Boat Museum and the Sphinx, and ended with a panorama of the pyramids of Giza, where she listened to a detailed explanation from Mohi about the history of the archaeological area, and the project to reduce the level of groundwater in the area, and the restoration of the statue of the Sphinx and the development of the Pyramids, and also took memorial pictures in front of the statue of the Sphinx and Panorama.
The French President’s wife was impressed by the greatness of ancient Egyptian civilization, and the ability and miracles of the Egyptians to build the great pyramids, and the Solar Boat Museum with its high technology, the archaeologist and tourism guide Fatma Abdullah said.
The French President’s wife Brigitte was also keen to stand in front of the Great Sphinx of Giza (statue of Abolhol) to reflect on the genius of its manufacture. She also took pictures with some Egyptian visitors and some tourists of different nationalities, who were present in the area during the visit and asked her to take photo with them, Fatma added.
