Dr. Zahi Hawass (Minister of Antiquities in the new cabinet) said this morning that the fire was seen yesterday it was a burning car outside the museum and the Egyptian museum in Cairo is safe. He said that the broken objects in the museum, due to 9 persons managed to get inside the museum last Friday night, will be restored to the original status and the 288 objects that were stolen have been captured and there are back in a safe place. Responding to what some TV channels aired yesterday about the breaking in and stealing from tombs in Sakkara Zahi said that it is not true and the tombs in Sakkara and all Egyptian monuments and antiquities are safe.
