South Korea Ambassador to Egypt Visits the Grand Egyptian Museum

The ambassador of South Korea in Cairo and his wife visited the Grand Egyptian Museum in Rimaya Square earlier Thursday and had a tour inside the renovation center and at the construction site.

They stopped at the great entrance hall, where the statue of King Ramses II now stands, and the wood lab, where belongings of King Tutankhamun are kept.

The tour also included a lab, where huge artifacts are being restored before they are displayed on the Great Staircase.

The diplomat was very impressed with the advanced techniques used to repair the ancient pieces.
