Swedish Ambassador in Cairo Jan Thesleff met Wednesday night with Minister of Antiquities Dr Khaled el Anani to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation in the field of archaeology.
Dr el Anani praised relations between Cairo and Stockholm, particularly at the archaeological level. The meeting took up cooperation between the two countries in excavation and museum work, as well as exchanging expertise and training archaeologists.
Thesleff, for his part, said his country is keen on enhancing cooperation with Egypt at the archaeological level. He invited Dr el Anani to visit excavations conducted by a Swedish archaeological team in Gebel El-Silsila area, noting that many discoveries were made.
