World Exclusive: Ancient Egyptian Tomb of King Amenhotep III Opens After 3,400 Years. Inside Peak!

After 3,400 years sealed in darkness, the tomb of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (father of Akhenaten and grandfather of Tutankhamun) in the Western Valley of the Kings, Luxor has officially opened to the public for the first time in history. Inaugurated today by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy and Secretary-General Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, this marks the completion of one of Egypt’s largest-ever conservation projects, led by Waseda University (Japan), UNESCO, and Egyptian conservators. Inside KV22, you will see:

✨ The reassembled granite sarcophagus lid, reconstructed from 200+ fragments
