U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, together with Egyptâs Ministry of State for Antiquities, will kick off a four-day workshop on July 18, 2011 in Cairo titled âCountering Antiquities Trafficking at Egyptâs Ports and Borders,â during which American and Egyptian officials will focus on countering antiquities trafficking and enforcing border security.
This intensive workshop is a collaborative effort sponsored by the U.S. Department of State in partnership with the Government of Egypt and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations. The workshop is designed to help improve Egyptâs capacity to prevent the illegal export of cultural property through more effective implementation of export controls.
The workshop is scheduled to take place July 18-21, 2011 in Cairo.
